Bitcoin touches record above $29,000, extending 2020 rally

They can’t push back as hard as with XRP as Bitcoin is not centralised. But they can certainly make it nearly impossible to change it into fiat, which would make the price crater... temporarily. -
Does anyone use BlockFi? I really like the payout flexibility and high interest on stablecoins. I feel more and more compelled to put some USD in stablecoin and let it earn 8.6%+ interest. So how “safe” is it in your opinion? Seems to have decent guarantees, high lending margin and forced selling? Or am I being blinded by the high interest rate? I am aware of the dangers of stablecoins, so I’m more interested in opinions about BlockFi itself.

I hope it goes to 40k and crashes to 10 or so. I’m not gonna sell any and I’ll buy some more then. -

Except you’re comparing apples to oranges, this is the eBay conversion fee, not PayPal. In other words, eBay does the conversion for you, not PayPal. Check the actual PayPal website before talking your own BS: /us/webapps/mpp/paypal-fees#transfers Converting payments in another currency “4.00%, or such other amount as may be disclosed to you during the transaction.” So 4% is the MINIMUM. I have been charged almost 20% for receiving money + conversion + withdrawal from EUR to GBP, stopped using it since then. Receivin -
There will always be naysayers like Roubini for crypto currency. Most of them will disappear into oblivion, but I have a feeling (and I’m making a small bet) that at least bitcoin is here to stay. I do agree that current prices are going to crash, and we will see action by governments to limit its use. But I also think most people are starting to realise that fiat currency is backed by faith and in some ways not so different from bitcoin.

Yeah that was a disaster. As I said above it was the wild card in my portfolio, and wild it was indeed. I sold it yesterday as soon as I got the news that would be delisted from Coinbase. It’s going to zero. Made a huge 66 percentage loss, however luckily in actual fiat terms is not much, and the recent advances in btc, LTC and eth more than cover it. Learnt my lesson - I won’t ever put money into sh!tcoins again. From now on it’s BTC, LTC and ETH for me only.

Surging investor interest sends bitcoin to peak past $23,000

Why not buy directly? You don’t need to be extreme to hold them yourself in a cold wallet (although that’s the safest way) but you can buy and hold them directly in a reputable exchange like Coinbase and Binance.
